Top Heavy 3rd Gen Tacoma on 37's take on the Rubicon Trail for the Marlin Crawler Roundup '23 Part 2

This is the second part of the Rubicon trail trip this past August. In this video, I show the ugly side of what the Rubicon trail will do to a rig, even if you think it's as built as it gets. In this video, I mostly go over the struggles of getting through Big Sluice and Cadillac Hill where I end up breaking my drum brakes and bashing in my rear diff skid in to my pinion seal. I made it out of the trail on a rainy Sunday night. We were hoping to address the brake issues off the bat but it didn't happen. I didn't want to wait any longer so I was able to drive home after a few days in Truckee. I just had to address my pinion seal and while I had time to kill, I beefed up my drive shaft to a heavy duty one. It should help in the long run. So overall, I had my pinion seal damaged and my drum brakes grenading on me. A little minor issue was my transfer case skid getting bashed in my transfer case which caused nasty vibration noises but it went away as soon as I removed the skids. I have a Bay Area Metal Fab differential skid plate on the way which should address any future issues with the diff u-joint area. I will also upgrade my drum brakes to disc brakes. May just go big brake kit while I'm at it. Lastly, a future mod I plan on doing is the JD fab Howe TC pump. It will really help with me turning my wheel on those rocks!
