PART 4 – Cam Shaft Tolerances - How to Build a CB Performance 2017cc Builder’s Choice VW Engine

Here I'm test fitting the cam shaft into the case to check cam shaft thrust, oil pump clearance and backlash. I'm also looking at the cam shaft bearings and adjusting them to fit. This whole process was a bit of an eye-opener as I learned a lot about the internal relationship between crank and cam and the tolerances required to keep your idle timing sweet and the cam turning for many miles. Again, I made a lot of mistakes, but that's all part of the learning process right?
