We visit Don and his team at the (almost) secret location of Big Don's Smoked Meats in suburban Perth to go behind the hot and smokey scenes of barbecue heaven. It's one of the best places to eat in Perth... If you get to eat it. Eating at Big Don's has become a hotly contested challenge - open just one day a week on Saturday, the menu is announced on Monday and everything must be preordered when sales go live on Tuesday evenings. But with total allocations (and it's not stingy - we saw 600kg of brisket loaded into the smokers) selling out in minutes, it's a battle for barbecue like no other. Definitely the best barbecue this team has had the pleasure to try.
