Palabras de S.M. el Rey en la entrega de los Premios Princesa de Girona
Link to the news.- https://www.casareal.es/ES/Actividade... Good afternoon or good night to all, It is a true joy to be back in this beloved city of Barcelona, in Catalonia. Just today, a month ago, the Queen and I were not far from here, at the Montserrat Monastery, where we went to celebrate the millennium of its foundation. It was a very special visit for us - the first there as Kings -. Then I said that the community of Montserrat is a great meeting point for our culture: Catalan, Spanish and European culture. This Theatre is also one. It is an emblematic space where culture is breathed and lived intensely and where emotions unite us beyond words. Although different, both places, true symbols of Catalonia's history and of which we feel so proud, share the extraordinary ability to unite to celebrate and preserve our common heritage. This same capacity of union is also held by this Foundation and these awards, which today bring us together again around the dynamism, commitment and hope that our young people represent. It is an appointment to celebrate his talent, support his aspirations and reaffirm our confidence in his transformative capacity. It is also an opportunity to recognize our achievements and remember that, as a society, we must always and responsibly support those who are called to build the future. That need for support makes me remember some words I heard at last year's gala and that stuck with me. One of the young people said that when they tried to carry out their ideas, many times what they lacked most was a meeting point. That's why I reaffirm the importance—and the value—of having spaces like the one offered by the Foundation, which not only recognizes the talent of young people, but also offers them opportunities to grow, contribute and take an active role in building a better society. I am talking about such valuable resources as the Tour del Talento, which travels through several cities throughout Spain every year (now in its 4th edition), or the entire line of programs grouped under the Generación brand and which are aimed at promoting training, entrepreneurship and the social impact of young people, whom the Foundation supports in their professional development and also in their personal growth. A job that takes on even more meaning when we observe the world around us: an increasingly complex, uncertain and demanding context, which conditions the present and challenges the future of those who, at this stage of their lives, are moving forward to define their horizon. That's why it's so important to listen to them, open spaces for them, offer them opportunities and, above all, trust them. Because where there is trust, ideas emerge, initiative grows and the courage to create and innovate is strengthened. And today, through our awardees—congratulations to all—we want to convey a clear message: when young talent is trusted, no matter where it comes from, it finds its way and has the power to transform the present; and to do so from areas as diverse as art and culture, entrepreneurship and innovation or research and science. ... https://www.casareal.es/ES/Actividade...
