Optical Properties of Nanomaterials 11: Semiconducting nanoparticles II
Lecture by Nicolas Vogel. This course gives an introduction to the optical properties of different nanomaterials. We derive fundamental relations describing the interactions between materials and electromagnetic radiation and discuss the resulting optical properties for dielectric, metallic and semiconducting particles. This chapter discusses the quantum mechanical origin of the size-dependent fluorescence of quantum dots from a particle in a box model.
