Making Loose Abstract Pages with Deep Deep Light Watercolors
In this art journal session, I’m playing with soft granulating watercolor washes, moody blue-gray neutrals, loose pencil marks, bold black patterning, and little touches of glowing gold mica. I worked in my handmade Bare Spine Beauty Journal using Deep Deep Light granulating watercolors, a Color Cube palette for inspiration, Blackwing pencil, King Art gel crayons, Faber-Castell Black Edition pencils, Posca marker, and Kuretake gold mica paste in a fine line bottle. This spread is all about quiet layers, curved shapes, texture, and intuitive mark-making — the kind of creative play where I let the materials lead and see what kind of abstract atmosphere appears on the page. Supplies used: 🖌️ Looking for the supplies I used? I’ve listed all my favorite and most-used materials on one easy-to-update page here: https://2lilowls.com/favorite-supplie... (Some of the links are affiliate links. If you use my link, I get a small commission, which will go toward my art supplies and to support this channel! I appreciate your support!!) 🗒️ Note: I no longer add individual links under each video to avoid expired links, YouTube may flag, risking my channel being deleted. And due to the volume of comments I receive, I’m not able to look up individual supplies on request — but everything I use regularly is listed on that page! Thanks for your understanding!
