Amidst everyone's silence, unfamiliar terms followed. Election rigging, the Deep State, the All-Seeing Eye... Conspiracy theories, which once felt so distant, have now infiltrated my own group chat. Conspiracy theories, which we once regarded merely as a unique worldview shared by a select few, are encroaching upon the public square. Young people are sitting around and nodding in agreement as someone preaches baseless language of hatred and anger. The public sphere is helpless against the invasion of conspiracy theories, which have evolved further through digital technology. The crisis facing democracy is deepening moment by moment. Why do people fall for conspiracy theories? How should we communicate with those who have fallen into them? Experts who have studied conspiracy theories urge us to first listen to the underlying language they are appealing to, rather than the language on the surface.
