According to Newstapa's on-site coverage since the 8th, lectures and speeches by longtime proponents of election fraud—such as Hwang Kyo-ahn, Jeon Han-gil, and Cho Jung-jin—continued daily at the protest site. Young participants who encountered these speeches were then relaying these claims to other attendees, thereby spreading them further. Originally, the Jamsil Protests began as a movement demanding a "re-election" in protest of the ballot shortage at the Jamsil 7-dong polling station in Songpa-gu during the June 3 local elections. As citizens regardless of political leanings gathered to raise issues regarding the infringement of suffrage rights, some media outlets even described it as a new conservative youth movement. However, at the site, after expanding its scope by prioritizing the demand for a re-election, theories regarding election fraud, Chinese intervention, Deep State conspiracy theories, and claims distorting the May 18 Uprising were rapidly spreading.
