Gut Boosting Breakfast - Dominique Ludwig Nutrition
This my ultimate gut-boosting breakfast that I eat every week!! This recipe is ideal if you’ve recently taken antibiotics, or your gut is in need of a boost! It contains the 3 P’s—PROBIOTICS, PREBIOTICS and POLYPHENOLS. This recipe has around 15g of fibre which is HALF of your recommended daily intake and 28g protein! And it’s so quick and easy to make! Make sure to keep this breakfast with a loose, soft consistency as chia and flaxseeds will absorb a lot of fluid. Ingredients 200 Probiotic LIVE high protein yogurt with 10g protein/ 100g eg Yeo Valley Greek Recipe or Fage 100g Berries for fibre and polyphenols 30-40g ground flaxseeds and chia seeds for 10-15g fibre (mostly soluble fibre) 100ml Extra milk of choice- I used @Plenish 50-100ml kefir for extra probiotic bacteria. I used @biotiful_gut_health Topped with a drizzle of tahini. Method I grind my chia and flaxseeds together in my bullet blender for a few seconds to break down their hard coating. Then I store them in the fridge. Mix all of the ingredients together and enjoy! Add extra milk to keep the consistency loose. Allow to stand to 20 mins or more before eating to allow the seeds to swell. If you are not used to Chia seeds, go slow and start with small amounts to see how your digestion responds. Drink plenty of water during the day as they continue to swell when you’ve eaten them. Because they absorb plenty of water, they tend to keep the train 🚂 moving in our digestive tract and help us to poop! It is VERY important that we poop every day.
