The Five Elements represent the fundamental building blocks that construct the world around us. Elements are the structures that form the cosmic universe and our material bodies. The five basic elements are Air, Fire, Akasha (Emptiness), Earth, and Water, respectively. Knowledge of the Five Elements is said to be beneficial in developing an advanced yoga practice because these elements help one understand the body and mind as well as the world they live in. The character of the elements directly impacts our lives. An unbalanced and dominant element can be destructive and chaotic, while a balanced element opens the door to change and transformation, helping us to better understand ourselves and life. The Element Series: The Earth element represents trust and rootedness. Its negative effect can make us feel lost and distracted, while the healing Earth element helps us establish a foundation in our lives, feeling confident and determined.
