English in a Minute: Memory Lane
Welcome to English in a Minute! A lane is a narrow road or path. But what and where is memory lane? And how do we get there? D: Hey Anna. How was lunch with your old friend? A: Awesome. We took a long trip down memory lane. We even talked about our old elementary school teacher, Mr. Burpee. D: Mr. Burpee? Really? A: Hey, Dan. The Burpees were a very powerful family in our town. We don’t make fun of the Burpees. A “trip down memory lane” happens when you spend time thinking about or talking about the past. We mostly use this when remembering good memories and not the less pleasant times from our past. And that’s English in a Minute!
