Prevent Mosquitoes in your yard with a Goldfish Pond or Water Garden Containers? Amy & Matt Explain!

Water Gardens can prevent Mosquitoes from coming to your yard unlike birdbaths and other standing water. Let's dive into this concern for any backyard! Female Mosquitoes are attracted to standing calm water like bird baths or buckets of water* - But the opposite is true for any water with movement or aeration. Ponds with Fish or Tadpoles will not support mosquitoes Container Gardens with Lotus, Waterlilies, or other emerging plants attract beautiful colored dragonflies which actually consume both adult mosquitos throughout the yard and the larvae they have in the pond eat mosquito eggs or fry if any were to hatch in calm water eliminating the population of mosquitoes in the area. It is nearly impossible to find a body of water with any fish or good growing plant life home to mosquito populations however short pools of water where you don’t find fish and plants are the bodies of water to eliminate!
