Monastery of the Myrelaion

You may not have heard of the Monastery of the Myrelaion but it is one of the few buildings associated with the Macedonian Dynasty to have survived. It was built by the Emperor Romanos Lekapenos (920-44 AD) and he was buried here. It is now known as the Bodrum Mosque. This video is part of a series - 'The History of Byzantium goes to Istanbul.'
