Photo-Etch Upgrade… or Total Waste of Time?
In this episode of Jet Scale Models, we continue work on the Trumpeter S-65 Soviet tractor—a machine that started life as an agricultural workhorse before being thrown into the harsh realities of the Eastern Front. From assembling the front control area to tackling the radiator and grille, this build starts to reveal the character of a vehicle that was never designed for war… but proved it could survive one. Along the way, we dive into the pros and cons of photo-etch upgrades, refine key details like the louvers and front grille, and push the realism a step further. As always, it’s a mix of problem-solving, trial and error, and a bit of stubborn determination to get things looking just right. Stay tuned as we continue bringing this rugged machine to life.
