Make your model stained glass look realistic with the simplest of materials!

It is really easy to make convincing stained glass windows for your model buildings, and you don’t need anything special to achieve it! In this video I will show how I used simple and cheap materials to make realistic stained glass windows for the model I am scratch building for my N Gauge model railway layout, Chandwell. Stained glass, when seen from the outside, is dark and not very colourful. Even when lit from the inside, the stained glass is only semi-transparent. I wanted to find a way of making model stained glass windows that looked good from the outside without any interior illumination. But I ended up finding that the stained glass really shone realistically when there’s a light inside too. I tried a few different techniques but found one that is incredibly easy. You don’t need acetate. Just some photo paper and a photo of a stained glass window. I really enjoyed making this stained glass and in this video I show you the steps I took whilst trying out different stained glass approaches when making my N Gauge scratch-built model for the back of my layout.
