Today we arrived in Gijón, Spain on P&O Ventura for one of the most surprising port days of our cruise so far. From shuttle bus queues and a slow start in port to traditional Asturian cider in the sunshine, this turned into one of our favourite days on board and ashore. We explore Gijón’s old town, visit the cathedral, try authentic local cider in a traditional sidrería, and share what the P&O Ventura port experience is really like in Gijón. Back on board, we grab food by the pool, enjoy sailaway from the aft decks, return to the main dining room for one of the best dinners of the cruise so far, then round off the evening with cocktails in Metropolis, comedy in the theatre, and the midnight buffet.
