Cardiovascular diseases are the leading cause of death in Germany, accounting for one in three deaths. Besides heart attacks, strokes play the most significant role. "It's crucial to react quickly when the first symptoms appear. The rule 'time is brain' always applies," warns Dr. Antje Schmidt-Pogoda, Senior Physician at the UKM Stroke Unit, a certified supraregional stroke center. To mark World Stroke Day on Tuesday, October 29, Dr. Schmidt-Pogoda and her nursing colleague, Jan Röttgers, will be guests on the UKM OnlineTalk, starting at 6 p.m. on the UKM YouTube channel.
