An incident at the Runner Academy in Mairiporã, São Paulo, resulted in the expulsion of students Jéssica and Michelle after a disagreement caused by an accident with gym equipment. The two were notified of the unilateral termination of their contracts, but claim they are being unfairly charged penalties. Jorge Wilson, the Consumer Sheriff, went to the academy to investigate the complaints of abusive charges. Management justified the expulsion based on aggressive behavior during the conflict. However, according to article 51 of the Consumer Protection Code, cited by the sheriff, clauses that place consumers at a disadvantage are null and void.
