Day 6 of the Great Divide Ride delivered one of the biggest transitions of the journey so far. We left Jindabyne in freezing alpine conditions, layered up against the morning cold and preparing for another demanding ride day through remote terrain. But kilometre by kilometre, the landscape began to change. The mountain air softened. The roads opened up. The temperatures climbed. Then came the moment that shifted the entire atmosphere of the ride — the first sight of the ocean. After days riding inland through the Great Dividing Range, arriving at the coast felt surreal.
