Why Your Dexcom Alarms at Night for No Reason — How to Tell If It's Real (T1D)

Has your Dexcom ever woken you up at 3 AM, showing you're dangerously low — but when you check, your blood sugar is completely fine? This is called a compression low. It happens when you sleep on your sensor, and it gives a false reading. And if you wear a CGM, chances are it's already happened to you. In this video, I share how I deal with this after 15 years of Type 1 diabetes — including how I tell the difference between a compression low and a real low, what I do when it's not obvious, and what happens when the sensor never recovers. Some of what I found out surprised me. 🔹 I am not a doctor. Everything I share is based on my personal experience living with Type 1 diabetes. Always consult your healthcare team before making changes to your diabetes management.
