Happy Birthday Knoebel's - A 1900's Carousel Experience

Take A Ride On An Early 1900’s Kremer Carousel. This video was produced and posted for the 2016 90th Anniversary of Knobels Grove Park. Here is a compilation video to celebrate Knoebel’s Amusement Resort’s (formerly known as Knoebel’s Grove) 90th Birthday. Highlighting this video, is authentic early 1900’s music of the period as played on the fabulous 1888 European Frati Barrel Organ, converted to play 61 key B.A.B. / Artizan band organ music rolls. These songs were frequently played on the Boardwalks of Coney Island and North Beach in their heydays. This particular 61 key roll playing (Wurdeman # 394), is featuring the “Old Timers Waltz Medley” as arranged by the great piano and organ music arranger, J.L. Cook. It is also noted here that his arrangement for B.A.B very closely aligns with his piano arrangement of Q.R.S. piano Roll #1370 “Old Fashioned Waltz Medley”. Tunes include the period pieces: • The Bowery - 00:00 (appropriate here considering the North Beach Heritage) • The Sidewalks Of New York - 01:00 • Sweet Rosie O’ Grady - 01:37 • Daisy, Daisy – 02:10 • Two Little Girls In Blue – 02:45 • Little Annie Rooney – 03:18 • ? – 03:50 • And The Band Played On – 04:24 • After The Ball – 05:01 Kick back and let the music transport you back to those early days as you reach to “grab that ring” for yet another ride. Music used by permission. For those interested, there is a limited catalog of extant music rolls for this and other roll playing organs at: https://8ttirollography.net/wp49/
