We're continuing our Golden Week trip to Kyushu and Yamaguchi, and this time we visited Munakata Taisha Shrine (Hetsunomiya), a UNESCO World Heritage Site in Munakata City, Fukuoka Prefecture. We leisurely strolled through the historic grounds, said to be one of the oldest shrines in Japan. There were a fewドキドキ (heart-pounding) moments, like being caught in a sudden rain shower on the way to the Second and Third Shrines, but it was a pleasant and healing visit.
