Garfish Swim-Bait Handmade Lure - Part 7 - Final Wire Placement and Fin Attachments

Known by some as the "fast food of the sea", the garfish is a long and slender fish that grows to around 75cm (30in) in length. The pectoral, dorsal, and anal fins are situated well back on the body and the latter two are similar in appearance. In natural live fish, scientists believe that the positioning of the fins so far back, gives greater flexibility to the body, a characteristic Greg attempts to emulate in his 6-piece design of the Garfish Lure. This week the joining wires are finally glued into their respective parts of the lure body, and cavities are filed with Jacaranda dust and Super Glue to form a bond like steel. Proposed positions for the lead weights have been excavated too, in readiness for weight placement and swim testing. Finally, Greg has finished the intricate detail on the anal and dorsal fins and glued them in place. As this week’s episode comes to an end, the Garfish Lure is looking and moving more realistically than even Greg imagined.
