DENUNCIAN PENALMENTE A EVO, ARGOLLO Y SALAZAR POR LOS BLOQUEOS

The Civic Committee of Santa Cruz filed a criminal complaint this Wednesday against former president Evo Morales, COB (Bolivian Workers' Center) executive Mario Argollo, and peasant leader Vicente Salazar for at least nine crimes, including terrorism, financing of terrorism, and armed insurrection, following 53 days of blockades aimed at forcing the resignation of President Rodrigo Paz. Civic committee president Stello Cochamanidis called the accused "criminals" and asserted that they attempted "a terrorist coup d'état," while delivering more than one hundred pieces of evidence to the Public Prosecutor's Office. The complaint maintains that the May and June mobilizations caused a social and economic crisis with losses exceeding US$3 billion for the productive and commercial sectors. Cochamanidis denounced that the Prosecutor's Office took more than an hour to receive the document and only assigned an entry code after pressure from the press.
