Buscando sino y destino | Horacio Franco | TEDxMexicoCity

In this engaging conversation, Horacio recounts his long journey to pursue his vocation: music. Despite his parents' pressure to study a "real" career, he demonstrated that with talent and effort, one can pursue any profession as long as passion and self-awareness exist. Maestro Franco describes vocational guidance as one of Mexico's greatest tragedies. He is one of Mexico's most renowned artists, with a 38-year career. He studied at the National Conservatory of Mexico and later at the Amsterdam Conservatory, where he earned the "Soloist Cum Laude" degree. Acclaimed by international critics as one of the world's leading recorder players and conductors, he is a driving force behind the early music movement and founder of Mexico's first baroque orchestra. On his tours across five continents, he has given numerous masterclasses and participated in educational projects, as well as initiatives supporting marginalized and vulnerable sectors of society. She has performed in prestigious venues such as the Palace of Fine Arts in Mexico City, Carnegie Hall in New York, the Berlin Philharmonie, the Forbidden City Hall in Beijing, Bunka Kaikan in Tokyo, Tzavta Hall in Tel Aviv, the Sydney Conservatorium, the Royal Opera House in Thailand, Wigmore Hall in London, and at numerous major festivals worldwide.
