They say the first 1,000 kilometers change you. Leaving the Venice outskirts behind, I push the "Iron" through the moody, grey heart of Northern Italy toward the fashion capital of the world: Milano. Day 4 wasn’t about the sun or the perfect mountain curves—it was about the grind. Under heavy, cinematic clouds, I hit the highway for a long stretch of reflection. Somewhere between the tolls and the turn-offs, the odometer finally flipped: 1,000 KM & the reward for the long, grey miles is worth it. I finally reach Milano to navigate the urban chaos and reunite with a good friend for a well-deserved break til tomorrow. The mission to Africa is 12.5% complete. The "Iron" is holding strong.
