In this channel, I'll teach you how to grow healthy, toxin-free food 🥦🍅, while enjoying life in harmony with nature 🌿🌎. Here you'll find practical tips and proven techniques for designing your own sustainable growing spaces, urban gardens, and farm designs 🏡🌱. You'll learn all about biofactories, ecology, and animal welfare, and how to produce organic ingredients using natural resources, reducing your environmental footprint, and cultivating sustainable crops ♻️🌿. In this video, we explore the fascinating process of setting up a biofactory in the beautiful mountains of Colombia, focusing on the reproduction of Bacillus subtilis, an essential microorganism in organic farming. From the introduction to the final process, I'll take you step-by-step through everything you need to know to carry out this procedure on your own farm. 🔴🚜 BACILLUS SUBTILIS: The SECRET to HEALTHY CROPS 🌾 Project Start at the Biostation We begin our journey by showing an impressive view of the Colombian mountains and a bioconstruction in progress. We are at a Biostation, a space dedicated to bird monitoring and the implementation of agroecological practices, where we are setting up a temporary biofactory. Preparation of Bacillus subtilis: An Ally in Organic Agriculture The heart of this video is the preparation of fermented grass to reproduce Bacillus subtilis, a microorganism that offers multiple benefits for organic agriculture. Benefits of Bacillus subtilis Biological Control: Bacillus subtilis acts as an antagonist to pathogenic microorganisms, producing natural antibiotics and enzymes that inhibit the growth of fungi, bacteria, and nematodes. Competition for Space and Nutrients: This microorganism effectively competes with other pathogens for space and nutrients, displacing them and thus protecting our plants from disease. Plant Growth Stimulation: Bacillus subtilis produces phytohormones such as auxins, which promote root growth and overall plant development, resulting in more robust and healthy crops. Improved Soil Nutrition and Health: It facilitates the availability of key nutrients such as phosphorus and nitrogen, and actively participates in the decomposition of organic matter, promoting a fertile and balanced soil. Materials Needed for Bacillus subtilis Reproduction To propagate Bacillus subtilis with fermented grass, you will need the following materials: Corn flour: 20 kg Molasses: 1 kg, which will serve as an energy source Cut grass: 2 kg, fresh and free of synthetic chemicals Plastic bin: For storing the mixture Step-by-Step Process Cutting the Grass: First, select grass that has not been treated with pesticides or herbicides. Cut it into small pieces, ensuring it is clean and free of contaminants. Preparing the Mixture: Mix the cut grass with corn flour in a ratio of 2 kg of grass to 20 kg of flour. This mixture will provide the appropriate substrate for fermentation. Adding Molasses: Dissolve 1 kg of molasses in water and slowly add it to the grass and flour mixture, ensuring all components are thoroughly mixed. Fermentation: We place the mixture in the bin, compacting it in layers to avoid the presence of air that could interfere with the fermentation process. Expected Results and Use of the Final Product After one month of fermentation, the product will be ready to be used in the reproduction of Bacillus subtilis. biofactories, organic agriculture, agroecology, ecology, sustainable farming. ☘️Bacillus subtilis ☘️Bacillus subtilis in agriculture ☘️Bacillus subtilis reproduction ☘️Bacillus subtilis bacteria ☘️Microorganisms ☘️Use of Bacillus subtilis in biological control ☘️What is the Bacillus subtilis bacterium?
