The Toyota Land Cruiser 80 series is a practically perfect 4WD machine. It's robust, rugged, capable, and has an enormous following with tons of aftermarket support. With its 1FZ-FE 4.5L inline 6 and old school A442F 4 speed transmission, reliability is almost guaranteed... however, the gas mileage is anything but desirable and it's extremely limiting for long-range adventure and travel.
