Toto ~ Hold The Line 1978 Classic Rock Purrfection Version
"Hold The Line" was inspired by a Sly & The Family Stone song, "Hot Fun In The Summertime". The piano is similar and drummer Jeff Porcaro stated that he was playing like Greg Errico, Sly's drummer with the band giving the song a hard rock edge with the guitars and coming up with a winner of a debut single late in 1978. Bobby Kimball handled the lead on the David Paich written song and took it to #5 on the Hot100 and has since become their signature hit.
