Key to the Cellar
Key to the Cellar is an English Country Dance written by Jenny Beer in 2004. It is a proper triple minor dance. http://scotthiggs.com/key.html The tune is a traditional one of the same name. It was performed by Bare Necessities (Earl Gaddis, Mary Lea, Peter Barnes, and Jacqueline Schwab) on the album "New Shoots". It is used with permission of Country Dance Society, Boston Centre, Inc. https://www.cds-boston.org/ecdc/ The animation plays at 98 counts per minute normally, but the first time through the set the dance is slowed down so people can learn the figures more readily. Men are drawn as rectangles, women as ellipses. Each couple is drawn in its own color, however the border of each dancer indicates what role they currently play so the border color will change each time through the minor set.
