Großglockner mit dem Wohnmobil – Lohnt sich die Hochalpenstraße wirklich?

Our test trip is slowly drawing to a close – but not without a real highlight! We started in Velden am Wörthersee, and the plan was to head straight home. But then we had a spontaneous idea: Why not drive the famous Grossglockner High Alpine Road? No sooner said than done! But before the real adventure began, a missed exit at a truck checkpoint caused a brief, unplanned stop. On our second attempt, we finally passed through the weighbridge without any problems – after a quick check and a chat with the police officer, we were allowed to continue our journey. After that, one of Austria's most beautiful highlights awaited us: the spectacular Grossglockner High Alpine Road. Breathtaking views, impressive mountain scenery, and plenty of driving fun made this section a truly special experience. Of course, we also took the opportunity to further test our Hymer ML-T 580 4x4 Crosstail. How did the motorhome perform on the winding mountain passes? We'll show you exactly that in the video. In the evening, we reach our simple but lovely campsite in Weißbach, where we relax and enjoy the rest of the day. This video marks the almost complete end of our test trip. The next morning, we have to head home for good, as the busy period is about to begin: the upcoming sale of our house, preparations for our move, and the next round of modifications to our Hymer are all on the agenda. Among other things, we're planning: upgrading the gross vehicle weight to 4.5 tons installing auxiliary air suspension further optimizations to the Hymer ML-T 580 4x4 Crosstrail We're also already working on another exciting project, which you'll of course be able to follow along with.
