I almost WRECKED my airplane
Shortly after I made my first gravel bar landing, I went to conquer some new spots. I found a gravel bar that I liked and circled it a few times attempting to judge rock size, flatness, debris, wind, approaches and go around options. Things didn’t go as planned and this video explains it all. If it wasn’t for the GoPro on the tail, I would have chalked it up to the characteristics of a short bodied Piper Pacer. My hope is that this video brings to light some of the errors I made that day and makes for safer flying for viewers.
