My daughter, Konoha, was diagnosed with a diaphragmatic hernia before she was born and was born in October 2003. Shortly after birth, she was diagnosed with Cornelia de Lange syndrome (CdLS). Since then, she has battled conditions such as intestinal obstruction, gastroesophageal reflux disease, and hearing loss. Until she was about 15, she would be hospitalized with pneumonia every winter. She currently attends a daily living support facility.
