Irish Rail 071 Class Locos on Tara Mines Trains.
Irish Rail 071 Class Locos working Tara Mines Trains between Navan & Dublin Port. Sadly the Tara Mines operations ceased in September 2023 due to the mine being closed (Temporarily). As off March 2025 the mine has reopened however the contract for transporting the zinc ore from the Mine to Dublin Port has been handed to a road haulier company which means the chances of seeing the tara mines trains returning are pretty much gone. Yet another loco hauled operation & freight traffic has been consigned to the history books.
