Tessa’s Toybox Our First Visit to the All new updated country Bear Jamboree Show. The Country Bear Jamboree is a musical stage show featuring audio-animatronic bears and other animal characters who perform country and western music. It's a long-standing attraction at Walt Disney World Resort's Magic Kingdom History Origin: The concept for the show was originally developed for a planned Disney ski resort in Mineral King, California. Debut: It first opened as one of the original attractions at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom on October 1, 1971. Expansion: Due to its popularity, the attraction was replicated at Disneyland Park in California in 1972, inspiring a new area called Bear Country. A version also opened at Tokyo Disneyland in 1983. Evolution: The show has seen different versions, including the Country Bear Christmas Special and the Country Bear Vacation Hoedown. Disneyland Closure: The Disneyland version closed in 2001 to make way for The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. Walt Disney World Refresh: The Magic Kingdom version received a significant update in 2024, becoming the Country Bear Musical Jamboree. This new show features reinterpretations of classic Disney songs in various country music styles. Characters and songs The Jamboree features a cast of beloved characters, including: Henry: The charming Master of Ceremonies. Big Al: The biggest bear with a penchant for singing "Blood on the Saddle". The Five Bear Rugs: A band consisting of Zeke, Zeb, Ted, Fred, and Tennessee, known for their lively performances. Teddi Barra: A glamorous bear who descends from the ceiling on a swing. Liver Lips McGrowl (now Romeo McGrowl): Known for his distinctive lips and powerful vocals. The Sun Bonnet Trio: Bunny, Bubbles, and Beulah, who sing in harmony. The original show featured classic country songs, while the new Country Bear Musical Jamboree now incorporates Disney favorites like "The Bare Necessities" and "A Whole New World" in various country genres.
