Painting Rocks and Trees in Soft Pastels

In this video I demonstrate a painting of rocky cliffs and trees at Acadia National Park in Maine. I used a hard pastel underpainting with Prismacolor NuPastels and an isopropyl alcohol wash. After that dried, I layered soft pastels on top to create this impressionistic scene! Supplies used: *UArt sanded paper, 400 grit *Prismacolor NuPastels *Isopropyl alcohol (rubbing alcohol, surgical spirit) *Soft Pastels (various brands - Great American, Terry Ludwig, Richeson, etc) Just a little note....
