Authorities seize R36 million cocaine at Durban Harbour

Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation, the South African Narcotics Enforcement Bureau, Customs and partner agencies seize about 90kg of suspected cocaine worth R36 million at Durban Harbour after intelligence-led operation. Officers act on a tip-off, discovering cocaine concealed inside excavators aboard the vessel Neptune Ace Tokyo arriving from Santos, Brazil. Further inspection at the Q and R Car Terminal reveals hidden compartments in machinery, yielding 47 blocks of suspected cocaine, with a second excavator later producing 43 more blocks - bringing the total to about 90kg seized.
