Masterclass with Professor Elmar Schmid in which the work on Weber's Concertino for clarinet and orchestra in E flat major op 26. This masterclass took place in Santander during the Encounter of Music and Academy 2003. M. von Weber: Concertino for clarinet and orchestra in E flat major J 109 op 26 (clarinet and piano reduction) Abstract: Professor Schmid comments that long notes have no accent, and the beginning of the piece can be more pianissimo. He corrects tuning in some notes that are too high. They talk about articulation in a specific passage and about the dynamics required to get the right character. They mark some breathing points on the score to keep the phrase. In the final passages, it is better to give the whole duration to the dotted notes and fast passages must be well articulated to obtain the character 'virtuoso'.
