I Built Spirited Away, with Real Steam

I handcrafted a Studio Ghibli mechanical/ kinetic diorama of the iconic Bathhouse Boiler room from Spirited Away with a smoldering fire effect. In this diorama build, I recreating Kamaji’s domain, complete with a working mist effect, glowing furnace LEDs, and plenty of industrious Soot Sprites (Susuwatari). I learn how to use mist atomizers to create a realistic miniature fire and smoke effect. I’ll walk you through how I scratch-built the wooden drawer walls using balsa wood, sculpted the boiler from foam, and created a custom "smoke" effect using a humidifier hack. We’re even giving the Soot Sprites a holiday treat—replacing their heavy coal with Japanese Konpeito candy. -------------------- 🕰️Timestamps: 00:00 Hi there 03:34 This is how I made the boiler machine 06:34 How to make miniature rivets (and go mad) 07:47 Painting steps for a copper metal finish 11:13 Is it a tree?
