All three heads merge into a common tendon that connects to the olecranon process of the ulna, with their main function being elbow extension. Over time, repetitive "wear and tear" in the gym can lead to scar tissue (fascial adhesions) in the triceps. This scar tissue reduces muscle elasticity, causing the tendon to pull and inflame, leading to triceps tendonitis.
