How to Collaborate for Environmental Justice | Katharine Morris | TEDxUConn

Katharine “Kat” Morris is a scholar-activist engaged in community organizing while completing her Masters of Public Policy at UConn. During her undergraduate years, she studied Cognitive Science and Anthropology, graduating Magna Cum Laude as an Honors Scholar. As a BOLD Scholar, Kat conducted independent research on Cross Cultural Engagement and Intersectional Activism Among UConn Affiliates and founded UConn Collaborative Organizing (UCCO) for grassroots organizing that prioritized intersectionality and solidarity in activism for social and environmental justice. In this TEDx talk, she discusses environmental racism and climate disasters from a local to global scale, and the power of collaborative organizing with LOVE. She hopes viewers take from this talk the ability to connect issues of social and environmental injustices, as well as the ability to see how we’re all connected to each other, the land, and all other animals as social beings in a shared ecosystem. Kat dares you to embrace the concept of radical love in action to create a brighter and inhabitable future for all.
