Day 4 – The Final Chapter of Our 600 Mile Arizona UTV Adventure | Fort Mohave to Secret Pass, Oatman & The Hualapai Mountains The 4th and final day of our 600-mile UTV expedition was everything an Arizona off-road adventure should be — rugged desert terrain, technical slot canyons, historic Route 66, wild burros in Oatman, and climb back into the Hualapai Mountains. We woke up in Fort Mohave, Arizona with nine UTVs lined up, dust still hanging in the air from the previous 500 miles. Can-Am, Polaris, and Speed UTV machines each one built differently Our first destination: Secret Pass Slot Canyon just outside of Bullhead City. The trail leading in was classic Mojave desert — rocky climbs, sandy washes, and sharp ledges that make you appreciate good suspension. Shock Therapy setups, ELKA shocks, and properly tuned spring rates made the difference on this terrain. The canyon itself is unreal — tight walls, rugged stone, and the kind of place that reminds you why we ride. Nine machines weaving through narrow rock formations is something you don’t forget. From there we headed toward one of Arizona’s strangest desert landmarks — the famous Panty Pole. If you know, you know. Hundreds (maybe thousands) of pieces of fabric flying in the wind in the middle of nowhere. It’s one of those off-road traditions that makes zero sense and total sense at the same time. We stopped, laughed, took photos, and added to the legend. Next stop: historic Oatman, Arizona. Rolling into town feels like driving straight into the 1800s. Wooden storefronts, staged gunfights, and wild burros roaming freely through the streets. After days of desert riding, grabbing cold drinks in Oatman hits differently. The contrast between deep backcountry trails and a historic Route 66 mining town is something uniquely Arizona. But the day wasn’t over. We loaded up and transitioned from dirt to pavement for one of the most iconic stretches of road in the Southwest — the winding curves of old Route 66. If you’ve never driven this section from Oatman toward the Hualapai Mountains, put it on your list. Tight switchbacks, dramatic elevation gain, and sweeping desert views that go on forever. Seeing nine UTVs staged against that mountain backdrop was the perfect closing image to this 600-mile journey. Climbing back into the Hualapai Mountains, the temperature dropped and the scenery shifted. High desert cactus gave way to mountain rock formations and pine-covered ridges. After four days of riding across Arizona — river crossings, railroad tracks, sand washes, remote mining roads, desert bars, mechanical challenges, and nonstop dust — the mountain air felt like a reset. This wasn’t just a ride. It was a test of equipment, planning, friendships, and endurance. Every machine — whether it was a Can-Am, Polaris RZR, or Speed UTV — proved something. Every brand represented on this trip played a role.
