Seeking Solitude in a Remote Welsh Valley

For my second camp of the week, I headed to a remote valley that sits in the shadows of Fan y Big and Craig Cwareli, in the Bannau Brycheiniog/Brecon Beacons National Park. The start of this walk takes you through ancient woodlands that eventually open up to give you incredible views of the surrounding mountains, the stream that runs through it has some small, but beautiful waterfalls too. After an afternoon of walking, I failed to find a perfect spot to pitch, and eventually I found myself at the top of the valley pitching my Terra Nova Laser Compact AS on uneven, marshy ground. None of that mattered though, as my surroundings were just spectacular, and I was treated to one of the most beautiful night skies I've ever witnessed. Thanks for stopping by.
