20230719 Becoming a Catholic. A RCIA Journey.

The RCIA is a process by which adults who are interested in becoming Catholic can learn about the Catholic faith and be welcomed into the Church. 00:00 Day 1 of RCIA 00:44 Rite of Acceptance 02:49 Rite of Sending 03:54 Rite of Election 05:37 The Scrutinies 06:15 Easter Vigil 06:53 Baptism 07:12 Sharings 11:09 Confirmation The process is divided into four periods: 1️⃣ Inquiry 2️⃣ Catechumenate 3️⃣ Purification and Enlightenment 4️⃣ Mystagogy ⛪️ During the Inquiry period, people who are interested in learning more about the Catholic Church can come and explore the faith. They will learn about the Catholic beliefs and practices, and they will have the opportunity to ask questions. ⛪️ If they decide to continue, they will enter the Catechumenate period. During this time, they will learn about the Catholic faith in more depth, and they will begin to participate in the life of the parish community. ⛪️ The Purification and Enlightenment period is the time leading up to the Easter Vigil, when people who are preparing to be initiated will celebrate a set of special rites to spiritually prepare them for their initiation. ⛪️ The Mystagogy period is the time after the Easter Vigil, when people who have been initiated will continue to grow in their faith. They will learn about the meaning of the sacraments they have received, and they will be encouraged to participate more fully in the life of the parish community. The RCIA is a journey of faith, conversion, and growth in the Christian life. It is a process that can be both challenging and rewarding, and it is a journey that is worth taking.
