In Part 3 of the BMW 320d restoration, we dive deep into the mechanical mess! This 2 lakh kilometer BMW came with more issues than expected — from diesel mixing into the engine oil to a stripped sump bolt covered in silicone, a jammed EGR valve, broken turbo intake, and headlight teardown for a full custom retrofit. This isn’t just a regular checkup — this is what owning and fixing a high-mileage German car really looks like in India. 🔧 Here's what we discovered and fixed: – Engine oil overfilled by 2L (due to diesel mixing from DPF issues) – Oil sump drain bolt stripped, sealed with silicone 😤 – We recreated the insert, cleaned the sump & fitted a proper new bolt – RPM fluctuation traced to jammed EGR valve – cleaned & reinstalled – Removed broken turbo intake pipe – Replaced coolant cap & tried another headlight switch – Headlights opened up for custom work – Wheel bolts stuck with rust, removed after 3 days soaking in WD40 This is the most intense teardown yet.
