Golden Hour Bike Ride Through Maryland Trails & Backroads Join me for a peaceful golden hour ride through Maryland neighborhoods, quiet backroads, wooded trails, and scenic lakeside paths. No racing, no training plans, and no power meters screaming at us. Just two wheels, fresh air, and a great evening to be outside. This route is one I'll be riding regularly throughout the year, so every ride tells a slightly different story. As the seasons change, so will the scenery. Watch the trees fill in, leaves change color, wildlife appear, weather roll through, and familiar landmarks transform from one ride to the next. Some days we'll have perfect sunshine. Other days we'll dodge storm clouds, ride through fog, spot deer along the trail, or discover something unexpected around the next corner. Part of the fun is seeing what nature decides to bring to the ride. Also, before anyone mentions it in the comments: yes, I rarely change gears. I usually just max them out and pedal through the resistance. Is it efficient? Probably not. Is it killing my chain? Most definitely. Am I going to keep doing it anyway? Absolutely. I’ll replace the gear as we go, but only if it fails first.
