First, to grasp the big picture, let's introduce the "SLCP," which can be thought of as the life cycle of software. SLCP SLCP refers to the series of activities involved in software planning, requirements definition, development, operation, and maintenance. SLCP stands for "Software Life Cycle Process." Lifecycle means "from birth to disappearance." In other words, SLCP refers to the process software goes through from its creation to its disposal. By the way, there is also the term "system life cycle process." The system life cycle is the series of activities that a system goes through from its creation to its disposal. Both the software life cycle process and the system life cycle process are international standards established by ISO/IEC. However, because the concept of a system includes software, there is a lot of overlap between these two standards. The "common framework" therefore combines the software life cycle process and the system life cycle process to create guidelines with unique Japanese adaptations. Common Framework The common framework is a guideline that defines the basic work items for optimizing software-based system development and its transactions. The common framework specifies the work to be performed in each SLCP process and the meaning of terms related to system development. System development involves the management of the company that will use the system, information systems personnel, actual users, and the system's developer. The common framework defines the meaning of terms and other information to prevent misunderstandings and issues between stakeholders, allowing them to speak the same language. Let's take a look at the five SLCP processes. The Five SLCP Processes SLCP is divided into five processes: planning, requirements definition, development, operation, and maintenance. The planning process is the process of creating a plan. The requirements definition process is the process of determining the necessary functions and performance. The development process is the process of actually creating the system or software. The operation process is the process of running the system or software. The maintenance process is the process of fixing bugs and updating. The planning process and requirements definition process involve management, so they are included in the "strategy" section of the exam. Questions about the development, operation, and maintenance processes fall under the "management" section. So, in this video, we'll explain the "planning process" and "requirements definition process" in more detail. Planning Process The planning process is the process of gathering and planning the requirements necessary for a system to achieve business goals. The planning process consists of two processes: "systemization concept" and "systemization planning." Systemization conception is the conception of new business and systems to solve business issues. The systemization concept planning process involves identifying business needs and issues, researching and analyzing the business and operational environments, and gathering information to develop a system concept. Systemization planning is a plan for realizing the systemization concept. The systemization plan planning process involves analyzing the information collected during the systemization concept phase to identify the functions to be systemized, creating a development schedule, and predicting cost-effectiveness. After the planning process is complete, the next step is the "requirements definition process." Requirements Definition Process The requirements definition process clarifies the requirements necessary for users to perform their work and determines the scope and functionality of the system. The "planning process" explained earlier is the process of planning a system based on management needs. In contrast, the requirements definition process clarifies the needs of the users who will actually use the system and determines what kind of system to build.
