Guardian Readers vs. Critics: Who Made The Better List?

The Guardian asked readers to vote for the 100 greatest novels of all time. The public has spoken. I still have notes. A couple of weeks ago I worked through the critics' and writers' version of this list — and I had thoughts. Now the readers have had their say, and while I have a lot of respect for democracy, I also have a lot of opinions about what ended up in here. Some of these books absolutely deserve their place. Some of them I cannot let go without comment. And one or two omissions are, frankly, baffling. This is my honest reaction to the Guardian's reader-voted 100 greatest novels. If you haven't watched Part 1: the critics' version, that's on the channel and worth a look before this one. As always, I'd love to know what you think. Did the readers get it right? Were there books on here that surprised you, or glaring omissions you can't forgive? Let me know down in the comments.🔗 Part 1 — The Critics' List:    • The Good, The Bad, And The Omissions: The ...   📚 The Book Thing on Discworld:    • Discworld in Order: Reviewing Every Terry ...   Don't forget to check out ‪@AaronReadABook‬ #GuardianBooks #BestNovels #BookTube #ClassicLiterature #bookreview
