Les Carnets de Julie - Chédigny, en Touraine

Today, Julie's journey takes her to the Centre-Val de Loire region. More precisely, to Touraine, a former French province, nicknamed the "Garden of France" for centuries. Among the region's must-see towns, Loches stands out as a unique destination. This ancient medieval city is brimming with historical and heritage treasures. The town of Chédigny, for its part, is a magnificent ambassador for Touraine. Adorned with over 800 rose bushes, it is the only village in France classified as a "Remarkable Garden." This land of kings, home to numerous Loire Valley châteaux, is a treasure trove of culinary delights. We know the traditional rillettes of Tours, nougat, and cheese… But Touraine also boasts other specialties such as dried pears, saffron, and even a range of wines. Among today's Touraine specialties, Pierre will introduce us to Beuchelle, a recipe featuring sweetbreads. Danielle will prepare pork knuckle with Tours prunes. Finally, Annie will cook a rhubarb and strawberry tart with Julie. Julie's Notebooks - Chédigny, Touraine, September 5, 2015 Even more videos: https://www.france.tv/france-3/carnet...
