Gravidade quântica: Por que a Relatividade Geral entra em conflito com a Física Quântica

The biggest gap in contemporary physics lies in quantum gravity: we still lack a consistent way to represent gravity as a quantum theory. In general relativity, there is no uncertainty principle, no quantization of gravitational effects, and no need to resort to probabilities to make predictions about the outcome of gravitational experiments. This seems inconsistent, since all material systems that generate gravity are quantum systems: if we cannot determine exactly where an electron is, how can we precisely determine where its gravitational field is? In this video, I will discuss the limits of General Relativity, explain why it is essential that it be reconciled with Quantum Theory, and discuss possible theories that could solve this problem.
